LSST DP2 FITS products¶
The Legacy Survey of Space and Time Data Preview 2 (LSST DP2) contains image and catalog products generated by Rubin Science Pipelines v30.0.8 from LSSTCam observations obtained between April 2025 and January 2026. Early DP2 was released on July 27, 2026. In this phase, the published image product is the deep coadd. Visit and difference images are part of the full release, expected in October–December 2026.

Sky coverage by band¶
Deep coadds cover about 3,000 square degrees in the Wide-Fast-Deep, Small Field Survey, and Deep Drilling Field regions. Individual visits cover about 15,000 square degrees, but those images are not part of this copy.
The local copy contains 197,105 patches in 2,191 tracts, with identifiers between 2054 and 13041. Declination for these patches runs from −52.16° to +22.90°, and right ascension spans the full circle. Not every patch exists in every band; the table below gives the count per filter.
How to read the coverage
Each file is one skymap patch. Deep coadds include only exposures that meet the quality criteria; edge patches can contain regions with no data, flagged by the NO_DATA mask.

Deep coadd¶
The combination, per band and patch, of calibrated, background-subtracted exposures. Stacking uses cell-based coaddition with an inverse-variance weighted mean. Each file is a CellCoadd in one of the six bands u, g, r, i, z, and y.

The Tracts column counts distinct tracts in that band. The union of the six bands has 2,191 tracts.
Limits of this inventory¶
This page describes only the deep coadds in the local LIneA copy. This set does not include deep_coadd_background, deep_coadd_n_image, or HealSparse maps. Official Early DP2 also limits image products to deep coadds. Raw exposures, visit images, template coadds, and difference images are not registered as available in this copy.
